Indie Abroad was not built in a boardroom or shaped by distance. It began through real experience, between university deadlines, residence paperwork, and the uncertainty of trying to build a life in Germany as international students ourselves.
We understand the pressure behind every step of the journey - arriving in a new country, navigating unfamiliar systems, managing language barriers, and trying to make the right decisions without clear guidance. That experience became the foundation of a consultancy built to make the path to Germany clearer, calmer, and more human.
What makes our approach different is simple: we do not just explain the process, we understand what it feels like to live through it. We built Indie Abroad to be the kind of bridge we once needed - practical, reliable, and grounded in firsthand experience.

Seven years in Germany, and it started with a language course, not a university place. DSH-3 first, then an M.Sc. in Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen at HTW Berlin - after rejections from several universities along the way, which is the part most people leave off their websites. He's lived in Chemnitz and Leipzig before Berlin, worked as a Werkstudent and held a full-time role here before going all-in on Indie Abroad. He's the first person you'll speak to, and he'll help you build a shortlist that fits you rather than one that looks impressive.

Eight years in, and he's been through nearly every stage the German system has: Studienkolleg, DSH-2, a B.Sc. in Automatisierungstechnik at TH Wildau, then an M.Sc. in Computer Engineering at TU Berlin - which is where a lot of our students want to end up. Dresden first, Berlin since. Werkstudent roles, internships and a thesis at a company along the way - so he can tell you what a CV needs to look like here, not just what an application needs. He handles the bulk of the application and visa work, the part where one missing document costs you a semester.

We advise in English, Hindi, Gujarati, and Marathi - whichever one is easiest for you and your parents.
